چکیده
Introduction: Meconium staining of amniotic fluid (MSAF) is a natural phenomenon in pregnant mothers and their fetuses. MSAF may lead to developing Aspiration Syndrome (MAS). Surfactant replacement therapy has recently emerged as MAS, but no guideline outlines how administer it properly. Case Presentation: We present two term neonates with severe MAS cases focusing on the bolus surfactant therapy. The first baby was given at 23 hours after birth second 8 birth. used Survanta (beractant) dose 100 mg/kg BW both cases. Clinical improvement observed 24 administration different clinical characteristics, treatment approaches, outcomes. Conclusion: In conclusion, therapeutic improve outcomes without significant adverse side effects.

Meconium aspiration syndrome in neonates
Perhaps the most significant changes in airway management over the recent years have been in the management of an infant delivered through meconium- stained amniotic fluid( MSAF). MSAF occurs in approximately 10℅ to 20℅ of all deliveries and increases to over 30℅ in deliveries after 42 weeks gestation. Meconium aspiration syndrome ( MAS) occurs in about 2℅ to 5℅ of these cases with a high morta...

BACKGROUND Lung lavage with diluted surfactant has emerged as an innovative treatment for meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS). However, the treatment effect has not yet been fully established. OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of surfactant lavage therapy for MAS by a systematic meta-analysis. METHODS Relevant studies were identified by database searches in MEDLINE (from 1950), EMBASE (fr...

Meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS) is meconium-induced respiratory failure of newborns associated with activation of inflammatory and oxidative pathways. For severe MAS, exogenous surfactant treatment is used which improves respiratory functions but does not treat the inflammation. Oxidative process can lead to later surfactant inactivation; hence, surfactant combination with antioxidative agen...

In the years 1977-82, 43 infants with the meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS) were managed at the Department of Paediatrics of Turku University Central Hospital (TUCH), Finland. Among 5,353 deliveries in one year the incidence of meconium staining was 8.7%. By extrapolation, the incidence of meconium aspiration in all newborns is approximately 0.13%. The mean duration of the pregnancies was 39.2...
